Versions of OpenClaw prior to 2026.3.28 exhibit a security weakness in the approval mechanism for device pairing commands, where user permissions are not properly verified during authorization checks. Attackers possessing pairing rights but lacking administrative authority can exploit this flaw in the code files extensions/device-pair/index.ts and src/infra/device-pairing.ts to authorize device connection requests that seek elevated permissions, including full system access.
