A function that depends on the distance of some point relative to the origin can be considered a radial function. These are nice as they’re often simple to work with and let us define volumes where the density varies over a region. The US Patent and Trademark Office considers an ITU application to be “pending” rather than “registered.” Until a trademark is actually being used in commerce for the products or services described, an ITU trademark application is basically just a placeholder. It gives the person who registers an earlier first usage date, but nothing else.
